The Protocol

The Open Charge protocol is a communication standard. It does not:
  • Collect or transmit personal data
  • Track users or transactions
  • Store any information
Any data collection that occurs through implementations of the protocol is the sole responsibility of those third-party implementers (wallets, merchants, hardware operators, etc.).

Third-Party Implementations

If you use wallets, payment services, or devices that implement the Open Charge protocol, those services have their own privacy policies. Open Charge is not responsible for the data practices of third-party implementers.

Your Responsibilities

If you implement the Open Charge protocol, you are responsible for:
  • Complying with applicable privacy laws and regulations in your jurisdiction
  • Providing appropriate privacy notices to your users
  • Handling personal data in accordance with your own privacy policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page.
